Shade Liquidation Sale???
What the…? My friend Almira of Healthy Republic just forwarded me an email she got from Shade. (image above) Does anyone know? Does this mean they are going out of business? Sad day.

Pretty much it says that they are closing, and don’t know when they will be back, but plan on making a comeback at some point…

Ag first I was thinking they’re going out of business, but after reading a lot of comments on their blog and facebook, I’m wondering if this is some ‘shady’ (haha no pun Intended) weird thing because it seems SO odd to just drop a bombshell when they were just talking about fall line!

I just called Shade when I got their email about this, and the girl I talked to didn’t seem to know why, but yes, they are clearing everything out, and closing their stores, the web, etc. So, sad. I asked if she thought they’d open again or something, and she really didn’t know. She said she was as shocked as I was.
Just got an answer! I believe they’ve been sold and will temporarily close, then reopen only carrying select things. A letter from the owner is expected soon. Still really sad as a lot of people just lost their jobs.

Hopefully they let us know when they are actually going to have a sale. 75% off? Where? Prices have increased since the announcement, if anything. I like Shade Clothing just as much as the next person, but at the prices they charged in addition to high shipping costs, I just can’t be surprised.
SO sad, i love shade! they are a small store and i am sure it is hard in this economy but there just aren’t enough stores like them! hopefully they are able to come back soon!
Ok, I understand what’s going on… but what I don’t understand is why the letter was dated for today, but nothing on their website works. How are we supposed to buy what’s left if the website doesn’t work? Anyone have any answers? Please e-mail an answer. I would love to buy a whole bunch of merchandise before they close for good.

Ugh, such a sad day! I admit, I’ve cheated on Shade a number of times and have bought tees from Downeast and the like, but Shade has always been by far the best! I hope they come back soon! Now I just need to know when the sale starts so I can stock up on all my basics before they’re all gone.
They got bought out so they are coming back in 2011 with a new owner and launching great new lines!
i was at their retail location in St. George UT yesterday and was able to score a few awesome pieces for next to nothing. all the store manager told me was that once the inventory was gone, that was it. hope they do come back next near as rumored.
