This weekend I was traveling and at the airport a girl was wearing black nylons (not tights) with some knee high uggs and a button up flannel. The flannel was supposed to be a t-shirt, and you could see the "control top" of the nylons. I was in disbelief! In that case, no. But anyways, to answer your question, I believe so. It's just like when stretch pants were really in style... no one thought my mom wearing stretch pants was inappropriate.
